Christopher DeFranco, LPCC
Christopher is an independently licensed, Professional Clinical Counselor. He has worked with individuals of all ages in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, schools, and homes. He holds a master's degree in Clinical Counseling from John Carroll University and a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Child Studies from Miami University.
Christopher specializes in working with adolescents and young adults struggling with a variety of life stressors including, but not limited to, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender issues, grief, trauma, loss, anger management, impulsivity, chemical dependency, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders. Christopher has extensive experience working with developmental disorders and individuals on the autism spectrum. Christopher also enjoys working from a family systems approach to help families come together and overcome stressors, promote positive relationships, strengthen communication, and safely address conflicts and concerns.
Christopher, like many counselors, tailors his treatment approach to the individuals, couples or families. He uses reality-based, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and Gestalt approaches in his work. He has worked with many diverse backgrounds of religion, ethnicity, sexuality, and ability: helping each person recognize and utilize their strengths to more effectively cope and celebrate their individuality. Christopher strives to lead a balanced life and oftentimes incorporates health and wellness into the work that he does.
